FREED0M 0F SPEECH

Hello world! Scales here, today(as you can see in the title)I am doing a blog about the freedom of speech!

Here I will show what my three topics are:

  1. Explain why Pharaoh made the work harder for the slaves after they complained about losing their freedom
  2. Describe a situation where you were you thought that it is important  to share what you think.
  3. Why do you think it is important to sometimes also express what you think through the media?

Question 1.I think when they complained it made pharaoh (who is a very annoying person/king) very angry, and so he thought: I should probably make there work harder for complaining about me!!!!!! anyways, so pharaoh made the work harder (unnecessarily).

Question 2. Well, Sometimes things happen in the classroom, and I kinda feel like I should share what happened to the teachers, yeah so I thought it was important to share so those who should be punished will be and those who should not won’t

Question 3. ok, so I think this can go two ways, like, if you are NOT going to criticize other peoples opinions and you just say what you think then, sure! type the earth is a donut for all I care. But if you try and beat someone else’s opinion down and declare yours right, THEN YOU MAY NOT TYPE THE EARTH IS A DONUT(but if it is I hope I can take a bite!)yeah, so I think you should share stuff on media because it can help you connect with people who are far away.

Here is my reflection on Innovation Day

We were asked to make a space that used renewable energy sources. We choose to use hydro electricity. We thought at the beginning we wanted to make a water wheel that could power something. We were scrambling for days trying to find a good model to make. Finally we settled on a good model. But we had to order things from India. our original model was going to be a DC motor attached to a water wheel. Then we wanted to add a motion sensor to sense when the water wheel was moving and that would turn on a light. but we didn’t have the right materials so we had to completely restart so we settled on this water-powered ferris wheel. The material we used was wood, DC motor(x2), computer fan, and a big plastic gallon bottle. I feel that our teamwork could have been better because my team ran to some problems that they were unable to resolve and needed my support. So they came up with the idea to make a ferris wheel. I was given an extension to work on my original idea.  I think I should have asked for help the day before the presentation. This is the lesson I have learned for next time. I think I  have learned lots of new ideas such as volts and watts and how to improvise when things don’t go to plan!

fr@ctions

Hello world!  Scales 207 here! Today we did fractions!

i am the person in the middle.

i used an app that helped me better understand how fractions work!

so far, i have learne:whole fractions, and proper fractions. i still have a lot to learn!

goodbye world!

Math

Hello world! Scales here, today in math class we got two dice and a sheet of paper, and so what we did is rolled he dice and whatever it was we would multiply it by the second dice! this was very fun to do as we didn’t just sit at our desk and study, we had fun!

ICE CREAM TIME!!!

Hello world scales here,a few days ago we made ice cream as our science experiment!

here is what you need

What you need 😛

Ice

Salt

CREAM MILK

vanilla/cocoa

Spoon

SUGAR

Ziploc small

Ziploc large

Process 😛

Take a ziploc small and fill it with CREAM MILK,then take a spoon of SUGARY SUGAR

And put in the baggie, take big zippy lock and take ice to put inside, then sprinkle salt to keep ice cold longer, shake for 7-10 mins and take SPOON  AND EAT ICE CWEAM!!!!!!!

The reason we did all of this ice cweam extravaganza was because we were studying how at certain tempertures and the right tools YOU, YES YOU, can turn a liquid into a solid! (and eat ice cweam while doing it)

Bye!

vocabulaire

podcast reflection banana

hi, im Daniel and I’m gonna talk about my podcast.

the name of the book was: a series of unfortunate events by lemony snicket

I enjoyed the book because I like the drama and the “unfortunate events”

I enjoyed making the Banana podcast with my friends Josh and XTmad

what do I think I should do better next time: make funnier ads and act like wealthy businessmen

how would I use podcasting in the future? In science of course!

Innovation blog. started this on 1:58 pm, Thursday march 9th 2023

HELLO WORLD!!!! I am here today to tell you about my innovation Day project. We were asked to build a medieval castle with a working drawbridge.

Medieval Information:

the people in the middle ages thought they were modern just like we do but someday we also probably won’t be modern. the middle ages has a period of time between ancient and modern.

some of the most successful barbarians were the Germanic tribes, the black death is a disease or what the empire used to call it, THE PLAGUE, it killed about 1 third of the population in Europe

in this period of time aside from THE PLAGUE people started developing unique architecture specifically castles and churches the castles had a series of small buildings, so kind of like a tiny town, for added protection some castles were protected by moats. most of the castles also have drawbridges so knights can’t just walk by. the king and queen were not exactly comfy inside these walls the castle is supposed to keep them safe not comfortable. also, I’m gonna need to use gears at some point and I need a good structure to ensure the building is stable.

Pulleys:activate

What is a pulley: A pulley is, most of the time something that is used in castles or anything that has moving piece that you need to move on a string. I can pull the string and this is called the force when the load is pulled up, it is easier for me because of the pulley. these are simple machines that help us in life.

What is a gears: A gear is rotating object with ‘teeth’ that grapple onto other gears to make movement. an example of a gear, as seen in my castle, lifting the flag of Israel!

Drawbridge

a drawbridge is a door that is very big and is most of the time controlled by a pulley. drawbridges were a defense tool, mostly surrounded by a moat or ditch. and a draw bridge might be removed or destroyed after it’s attacked

Here are some pictures and videos of the castles and drawbridges from the medieval times

Medieval Ashford castle and gardens – Co. Mayo – Ireland

My Hypothesis:

(Sorry there is no sound!) My hypothesis was that I would build one pulley that would raise the drawbridge and it would be protected by a moat.

Procedure:

Pictures of my build:

Final result:

Self assessment

I loved this project because first of all i got to add crocodiles and I love reptiles. I enjoyed learning about the black plague because it is interesting that one tiny virus can go all around Europe and a bit more and wiped out about half of the pollution. this was interesting for me. building the castle was probably my favourite part because i like putting things together – it is kind of like Lego. If I did this again, I would change the harpoon and make it bigger and maybe make more.
